Job title – Cyber Incident Response and Threat Intelligence Manager

Salary £34000/ annum

Full-time (37.5 hours per week) fixed term to 31 March 2022 with a view of extension.

Reporting to Head of Ethical Hacking

The role

Based between our office in the Oracle Campus in Linlithgow with some business travel you will be responsible for answering calls and queries into the SBRC Cyber Incident Response Hotline. When receiving calls you will triage incidents, provide advice and guidance, and help victims of cyber incidents begin their recovery. You will also be responsible for developing advice, guidance, templates and presentations on Incident Response, demonstrating best practices and industry standards for cyber security. You will also be responsible for identifying the latest threats that could affect Scottish organisations, and produce up-to-date advice on the best mitigations for these threats.

You will also work with the wider SBRC cyber team, including our team of Ethical Hacking students from Abertay University, to deliver and manage the Centre’s growing cyber division and provide a range of comprehensive cyber security advice and services to business, including corporate footprints, internal and remote testing, tabletop exercises and cyber awareness training.

You will have a degree in cyber security or a similar field, with a background in working in a cyber security role. You will demonstrate good stakeholder engagement skills and client relation management. You will be an effective communicator and patient individual who can work with anyone, regardless of technical ability to resolve incidents.

Responsibilities

Manage and co-ordinate the Cyber Incident Response and Threat Intelligence Project and undertake Cyber Incident Response duties
Act as point of call for the Incident Response helpline and online chat function
Lead the SBRC threat intelligence programme
Work with placement students to gain insight to the program
Ensure relevant reporting and documentation is complete
Ensure relevant data is captured on CRM system
Organise and chair project meetings, as and when required
Assist the Head of Ethical Hacking and/or our associates in delivering webinars from the Oracle building
Report writing and presentation of findings and recommendations
Continual development of technical competencies and maintenance of professional qualifications
Occasional evening and weekend work and travel within Scotland
Assist with new projects/programmes taken up by SBRC as and when required
Any other duties commensurate with position held.
