Getting Started with the Cyber and Fraud Centre Threat Intel App
Welcome to the Cyber and Fraud Centre Threat Intelligence app! If you’ve already downloaded the app but are unsure how to begin, this guide is for you.
If you’ve not already downloaded the app, you can do so on either the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store by following the embedded links.
We’ll simplify the app into four main functions to navigate: alerts section, incident response call option, news section and resources section.
Don’t forget, the app’s main feature is its notification system, so make sure notifications are turned on.
Alerts Section
- Discover the most recent threat alerts at the top of this section.
- Alerts are colour-coded for severity:
- 1: Normal – Blue
- 2: Moderate – Orange/Yellow
- 3: Severe – Red
- Customise your alerts by tapping the settings icon in the top right-hand corner and selecting your organisation’s sector.
- Click on any of the threat headings in this section to get access to the full piece about the threat and any solutions or patches required.
Incident Response Call Option
- At the bottom right-hand corner of the app screens, you will see a green circle with a white telephone icon. By clicking this button, you will call our Incident Response helpline.
- If you’re experiencing a hack, suspect one, or need assistance due to a threat notification please don’t hesitate to give us a call.
News Section
- Stay updated with the latest news and advice from the Cyber and Fraud Centre.
- If you want to stay up-to-date with this section, please sign up for our newsletter via our site.
Resources Section
- Here, you’ll find a comprehensive library of cybersecurity and fraud prevention materials designed to enhance your organisation’s defences.
- This section will build out over time and become more interlinked with the threats that are coming through.
This streamlined approach will help you quickly familiarise yourself with the app’s features and ensure you’re leveraging its capabilities to protect your organisation effectively.
