Who we are

The Cyber and Fraud Centre – Scotland is a more than not-for-profit, employee-first organisation that exists to ensure Scottish organisations are as resilient as they can be against cyber and fraud crime. In the eventuality of a cyber or fraud attack, the centre and its partners can support organisations through it and help resume operations.

It is our intention that every Scottish organisation have the skills and knowledge to protect themselves against online attacks. We achieve this through delivering education and preventative training, as well as actively raising awareness of threats throughout the business community.

About the roles

You will use your skills, networks, and experience to collectively help the board reach sound decisions and drive forward our organisation.

We are looking for new Board members who will meaningfully contribute to broader Board decisions, and specifically have skills and experience in one of the following areas at a senior level:

  • Strategic Marketing
  • Financial Management
  • Charity Governance

Role Responsibilities

You will:

  • Challenge the organisation on a variety of business matters and provide an independent objective view.
  • Provide advice on our strategy and agreed business goals and objectives.
  • Consider the views of stakeholders where appropriate.
  • Offer professional advice within your area of expertise and identify new opportunities.

Commitment:

Our Board currently meets about four times. All Board members are expected to ensure they understand our business and to prepare for Board meetings by reading, researching, and questioning.

The appointment:

Board appointments are for a three-year term that can be renewed for a maximum of six years.
