Who We Are

The Scottish Business Resilience Centre (SBRC) is a not-for-profit organisation and a respected voice in business resilience, bringing together the Scottish Government, Police Scotland and the Scottish business community. The vision of SBRC is to become the catalyst that makes Scotland one of the safest and most resilient places to live, work and do business, both on and offline, especially during these times of economic recovery. 

It is our intention that every Scottish organisation have the skills and knowledge to protect themselves against online attacks. We achieve this through delivering education and preventative training, as well as actively raising awareness of threats throughout the business community.

About the Roles

You will use your skills, networks and experience to collectively help the Board make sound decisions and drive our organisation forward.

We are looking for four new Board members who will meaningfully contribute to broader Board decisions and specifically have skills and experience in one of the following areas at a senior level:

  • Strategic Marketing
  • Financial Management
  • Financial Fraud
  • Human Resource Management

Role Responsibilities

You will:

  • Challenge the organisation on various business matters and provide an independent objective view.
  • Provide advice on SBRC’s strategy and agreed business goals and objectives.
  • Consider the opinions of stakeholders where appropriate.
  • Offer professional advice within your area of expertise and identify new opportunities.

Commitment

Our Board meets about four times a year, and meetings are held in our office in Linlithgow, West Lothian. All Board members are expected to ensure they understand our business and to prepare for these meetings by reading, researching and questioning.

The Appointment

Board appointments are for a three-year term that can be renewed for a maximum of six years.
