Jude McCorry, CEO, Scottish Business Resilience Centre, accepted the prestigious Cyber Resilience award on behalf of SBRC, at the much celebrated CeeD awards 2022.
It was a night of much celebration and recognition on Thursday, 24th February, at the Hilton Glasgow last week where many Scottish organisations from the public, private and third sector got together for CeeD Industry Awards 2022. The awards acknowledge and honour the accomplishments of shortlisted individuals, groups and organisations doing exemplary work within various Scottish industries.
Several presenters and award recipients used the platform to express the importance and significant impact of brining organisations together, for all sectors alike, to build a safer, more aware, and resilient Scotland.
We are delighted to share that SBRC was shortlisted for three award categories and we successfully won the Cyber Resilience award. Accepting the award, Jude McCorry, CEO, Scottish Business Resilience Centre, shared, “I am absolutely thrilled to be accepting this award on behalf of SBRC. It is such an honour to be recognised for our continued efforts in helping all Scottish organisations become resilient to cyber threats and making Scotland one of the safest and most resilient places to live, work, and do business, both on and offline.
She added: “We are delighted to receive this award as it recognises and celebrates the tireless efforts of our team who work towards the one, common goal of bringing cyber resilience to the core of every Scottish business irrespective of the sector, size, and current level of cyber awareness. Congratulations to all the other shortlisted and winning companies on the night, and a massive well done to CeeD for organising a fantastic event.”
The award categories for this year’s CeeD awards ranged from Innovation and Best Practice Sharing to Cyber Resilience and Circular Economy. CeeD added two new categories this year, to reflect on how organisations have had to change or pivot their business due to the COVID-19 pandemic. SBRC – Cyber Resilience – Among various other cyber resilience, cyber education, cyber security and cyber exercising projects, one of SBRC’s feats most worthy of recognition is the UK’s first cyber incident response helpline for the SME community and the third sector to help victims of cybercrime understand what support is immediately available to them and help them recover. This free helpline is created in partnership with Scottish Government and Police Scotland and has already been helping many organisations confirm they have been the victim of an attack and, if so, provide expert guidance to get them back to secure operations.
