The frenzy of Black Friday and Cyber Monday generates billions in sales each year, but the frenzy also attracts cyber criminals. Whether you are running…
Scotland’s leading organisation for building resilience against cyber and fraud crime, the Cyber and Fraud Centre – Scotland, will be bringing cyber security and fraud prevention tips to Stornoway next month with their latest roadshow event.
Taking place at Caladh Inn on Tuesday 30th April, the event will consist of two sessions, one in the morning (9:30 – 12:00) and the other in the afternoon (13:00 – 15:30). Aimed at local public, private and third sector organisations, the roadshow will focus on discussing key cyber security topics for 2024, as well as providing practical tips on how individuals and organisations can build robust cyber security knowledge and processes.
Each event will cover a variety of topics from developing and incident response plan to building a cyber strategy, while networking opportunities will allow attendees to form connections and share ideas on protecting their organisations.
Jude McCorry, CEO of Cyber and Fraud Centre – Scotland, said: “Public and third sector organisations are finding themselves vulnerable to cybercrime, whether they’re large organisations based in our cities or smaller charities in rural areas – cyber criminals do not discriminate. Our Stornoway roadshow event is set to help Hebridean organisations to arm themselves against cybercrime and fraud by sharing knowledge, assessing vulnerabilities and enabling collaboration across the sector.
Organisations that are concerned about their cybersecurity systems, or want to learn more about improving cybersecurity, can come along and chat to an expert from our team. Resources are also available on our website and through the CyberScotland partnership”.
The Cyber and Fraud Centre – Scotland also runs an Incident Response Helpline for any organisation concerned they have fallen victim to cybercrime which can be contacted on 0800 1670 623. It is run by Cyber and Fraud Centre – Scotland in partnership with the Scottish Government and Police Scotland with a network of trusted third-party companies that provide expertise and assistance.
